RELIGIOUS ART | NEWS OF WEEK

ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
By Ernest O. Britton
"INSPIRER OF FAITH" (above) by Andrew Kosorok offers a visual boost for grasping the mystery of the misunderstood faith of Islam, and that's why his work is the NEWS OF WEEK. Inspired, in-part by America's anti-Islamic feelings in the wake of September 11, 2001, Kosorok's glass sculptures explore the Islamic attributes of God: "He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god; the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Supreme, the Possessor of every greatness Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him)." (Quran, 59:23). Kosorok, a Christian-artist based in Utah is also the A&O INSPIRE ME! Artist of the Month for June 2012.
